🐵 Ford Focus 1.8 Tdci Not Starting

Tried to start it today, it started for 1 second and died. Didnt start after that. Tried to start it for 1 second with start spray, didnt help. It started but died. Could not find any fault codes with my hand held universal OBD. There is a relay clicking every few minutes in the engine bay relay box after cranking. Dont know it thats normal or not. There are too many variables but essentially yes, it should trigger a regen again next time you go out as long as the engines warm and you've got enough fuel etc. It works on soot loading rather than mileage. It doesn't know you're about to drive on a motorway. I don't seem not get any smoke out the back on start up or whilst planting my foot. Symptoms at the moment are- starts and runs normally after 5 minutes idle then goes into limp mode. maximum revs 3000 and splutters and smokes on acceleration. This is where I detailed the problem on my brothers car. Hopefully yours does not need such drastic work but there is some useful info in there about where connectors are etc. and checking with an ohmeter. but soldering on instrument cluster is most likely. Since this is a diesel, I imagine the pump is quite complex, my only experience of fuel pumps is the old diaphragm ones we used to have on petrol engines.
